Day 2 LA

Another day and another near skating disaster, aunt Gizzy insisted on showing me the skate park near her home. I did not find this very interesting but I humored her. After watching the little children padded from head to toe skate around for a little while, we drove up the hill behind the skate park to the dog park so Gizzy could give them some tennis balls. somehow it came about that I would skate down the hill and Gizzy would follow in the car.

As I started my descent I thought to myself, "This is a bad idea", but for some reason I continued. About half way down I realized that soon I would be going way to fast to jump off and the only way I'd make it out unscathed was either to bail now or get lucky and catch a green light at the bottom of the hill, so I leapt off the front of my board and hit that ground running. It felt like shifting from 5th to 3rd in a truck going seventy miles an hour, my legs were unable to keep up with the speed I was going and I very nearly fell face first into the pavement but somehow I maintain my balance enough to allow me to come to a stop on my feet.

There was know time for rest however, as my board came scooting by headed towards the busy street below. So I took off after and managed to run it down and stop it before it got out into the middle of the street. All in all, I was fortunate to avoid an emergency room visit, save my board and I learned I should more affectively scope out any hills I'm going to skate down.

Also, I went to a play (London Scars) and ate Thai food for dinner (not my favorite).
